Henry W. Jones enlisted in the 4th Alabama National Guard 7/21/1916 in Fort Deposit assigned to Company D 167th Inf Reg he took part in the Punitive Expedition against Pancho Villa 10/24/1916 to 3/9/1917. The unit was again activated 11/3/1917 for duty in France as the 42nd Division (Rainbow).

If you know the history of what happened you may find how lucky we all are to be alive. The 167th was in not only the thick of it but the worst of the thick of it.
