Quick Overview: Our JONES family line is rich with southern history that goes back to the early 1600s, in Jamestown, Virginia. Although our direct Jones line currently ends with our 3rd great grandfather, Merrit Jones, who moved from District 777, Randolph County, Georgia to Coffee County, Alabama, sometime between 1840 and 1850, we have also learned much about Henry's maternal great grandmother's line; JERNIGAN. Much is still to be learned about our JONES family and our search for Merrit Jones will continue!
